Grades: 6th-9th

Join this interactive class on the basics of baby-sitting. The course includes safety and safe play, basic care, first aid, leadership, and professionalism.

Each participant will receive a workbook, emergency guide and a CD of useful tools. The course is taught by a certified American Red Cross Instructor.

The Recreation Dept. will offer two courses during the year. Below is information on each.

211014 - Snowmobile Safety Course

Ages 12 & up

This 6-hour course is offered in three evening sessions. Participants must be present for all classes in order to be eligible for certification.

The VT State law requires all snowmobile operators born after July 1, 1983 to take and pass a snowmobile safety course. Enrollment is limited, so register early.

221007 - Tot/Tykes Computer Class

Ages: 3-7 years

Future Einsteins offers Imagine Tomorrow Computer Classes for Kids that are structured to provide the perfect mix of group interactivity and individual computer time.

During class, children become Computer Detectives on a learning adventure to imaginative places such as Email Trial or Internet Island. Classes start with an interactive video voicemail describing a new, fun-filled mission. Children then move on to their own laptop computer where they work on custom software designed specifically for each mission. Advancing at their own pace, children proudly apply new technology skills to solve problems and accomplish their goal. When class ends, children continue to enjoy their mission from home with online software activities that correspond to the current lesson.

Skills learned: Early Reading & Writing, Thinking & Problem Solving, Listening Comprehension, Keyboarding & Computer Basics as well as Internet & Digital Communications.

241010 - SAT Bootcamp

Grades: 9th-12th

Four hours to a better score! This interactive workshop is designed for students planning to take the SAT within two months of the workshop date. Performance will be improved by understanding the test, learning proven test strategies, and creating a personal study plan. Critical Reading, Writing and Math sections are included. Each student will receive a workbook with all workshop information, grammar review, and practice questions for all sections. Enroll early-space is limited!

Have you ever been told that you have a great voice? This exciting class will explore numerous aspects of voice over work for television, film, radio, audio books, documentaries and the internet in your area. We will cover all the basics, including how to prepare the all - important demo, how to be successful and earn great income in this exciting field. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and to hear examples of demos recorded by professional voice actors. Class participants will even have a chance to record a commercial script under the direction of our Voicecoaches.com producer!

This class is informative, lots of fun, and a great first step for anyone interested in voice acting professionally.
