BANDSHELL
Dorset Park- Swift Street Extension

The idea for the Band Shell was brought to the city by the South Burlington Rotary Club and fostered it as a community effort. The Rotary Club focused on fundraising for the project in light of Rotary International’s Centennial Year. The project has been brought to life due to the efforts of the Rotary Club, along with several substantial donations from the community.

The Rotary Community Band Shell at Dorset Park was dedicated on September 24 of 2006. It was presented to the City of South Burlington by the Rotary Club of South Burlington in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Rotary International. Funding for the project came from many local businesses and families as well as Federal funding which was secured by Congressmen Bernie Sanders

The Band Shell is intended for the enjoyment of residents and visitors to our area. It is a multi-use facility capable of accommodating performances, plays, concerts, functions, and family-oriented cultural and social events.

The mission of the Band Shell is; “To provide a high quality and relaxed outdoor cultural and social venue to be utilized by residents, schools, local organizations, town and the expanded community at large.”

Requests to use the bandshell are made by filling out and submitting the Bandshell Application.
