This Family Open Gym is co-sponsored with the South Burlington Family Center. Come join other families in an open gym atmosphere for socialization, fun activities and free play. This is an active parent/child time; everyone should come dressed to play. There is no fee and pre-registration is not required. A schedule with dates and location is available on our website or at the office.

Youth, Tweens & Teens Time
Join the Rec. Staff for this Family Open Gym time for elementary and middle school children and their parents. One Friday night per month we will be staffing an Elementary School Gym for games, free play and socialization. It is a great opportunity for families to get out and play together. Come shoot hoops, get into an organized game, or visit with friends. There is no fee and pre-registration is not required. A schedule with location is available on our website or at the office.

Join us for the most exciting game on ice! The Boston Bruins will take on the Washington Capitals, which promises to be an energizing game. Transportation provided in a Coach Bus. We will depart at 7:30am arriving in Boston shortly after 11:00am, Game time is at 1:00 p.m. After the game we will depart for our trip back to VT. Families, couples, individuals…all are welcome.

Are your kids climbing the walls? Well bring them where they can do this without getting into trouble. Wall Crawlers is a introductory program to climbing. This one night program consists of belay instruction for parents, while children practice their climbing skills in the bouldering cave. Then share in over an hour of climbing together. Instruction is provided by Petra Cliffs. Footwear requires sturdy sneakers, or you may rent climbing shoes that night for $2.00. Come join us for an evening of Climbing The Walls! This is a parent/child program.
Learn to knit or improve your knitting skills if you already know how. The Knitting Circle is for all levels and ages male or female, parent/child – all are welcome! Enjoy the camaraderie of knitting with a group and make a project of your choice. There is a $10 materials fee, payable at the first class, for needles and yarn, or bring your own.

Are you looking to join up with Robin Hood? Come learn first hand what the sport of archery is all about. The instructional clinic is designed for all abilities and is intended to teach the basic fundamentals and rules of the sport. Family members will have the opportunity to practice and develop their shooting skills. This is a parent/child program, price is per person.

The Recreation Dept. in conjunction with the VT State Police, will be offering a Boater Safety Course. The course is open to all youth, Teens and adults, 12 years of age and older. The course is 8 hours and is offered in 4 days. Participants must be present at all sessions to be eligible for certification. The course is mandatory for any person, born after January 1, 1974, who will be operating a motorboat on VT waters.
