Movie Night in the Park- September

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and snacks and join us for our “Family Movie in the Park”. We will be showing a family movie on our large outdoor screen at the Bandshell at Dorset Park. The movie will start at dusk. Check our website or call in September for the movie title. Free!

Pumpkins in the Park- October

Join us for our Annual Pumpkins in the Park event at the Bandshell at Dorset Park. It is a great way to kick-off the Halloween Weekend. Bring a pumpkin or come help us carve one of ours. All you need is a little imagination and a lot of carving enthusiasm. We will supply the carvers, stencils, markers, and decorations. The evening will end with a lighting of the pumpkins. Free!

Friday Night Bingo- November

Bring the whole family and join us for a fun night of Bingo! Cost is $1.00 per card for the night, limit three cards per person. Money collected goes towards the prizes. A parent/adult must accompany children. Refreshments will be available at a reasonable price.

Dive-In Movie- December

Join us for a splashing good time! Bring your swimsuit, towel, and favorite float for our in-pool movie. We will begin with a free swim from 6:00-6:30pm, with the movie starting at 6:35pm. This event is open to all ages; a parent/adult must accompany children. Check our website or call in December for the movie title. This event is held at The Edge on Eastwood Drive and is Free!

Skate Night- January

Join us for an evening of Family Skating at Cairn’s Arena. Invite all your friends and families to join us. There will be music and refreshments. Come and shake off the winter blues. Don’t miss out on this great time!

Kites in the Park- April

Come celebrate the first warm days of Spring and the opportunity to get out and enjoy the parks. Bring your kite or come make one with us. We will provide all the materials for your family to create your own kite. Color it, Construct it, and then Fly it. This event will be held at the Band Shell at Dorset Park and is FREE! One Kite Kit per family.

Autumn Fest- September

Join us for an afternoon of Music, Food and Entertainment. Come celebrate the Fall Season with family and friends. All events will take place at Dorset Park near the bandshell. There will be live music, food concession, and fun games. Watch for more information on this special event. All activities are family orientated and for all ages.

Halloween Celebration- October

Join us for an afternoon of Halloween fun and games! Come dressed in your favorite costume to participate in the many games and activities that we have planned. There will be a Pumpkin Walk, Halloween Carnival Games, Arts & Crafts, Bingo, and much more. This is a family event open to all ages, with prizes and special treats for all. Games and activities are geared for ages Pre-School through 5th grade. Free!

Winter Fest- Outdoor Winter Fun Day- January

Join us again this year for our Outdoor Winter Fun Day. The afternoon will include Snowshoeing, Outdoor Winter Games, Sleigh Rides, a Storybook Trek, Winter Tracking Tours, and a whole lot more! All activities are held outdoors at Red Rocks Park. Dress for the weather and to have FUN! No Registration required. Free admission for all!

Annual Father/Daughter Dance- February

The Father/Daughter Dance is for girls in grades 1st-5th and a special male in their lives. This festive event includes refreshments, gifts, picture taking, special prize giveaways, and dancing with the ever popular DJ, Daren Cassani. Tickets go on sale in January. A separate Registration Form is needed to purchase tickets. Forms are available at the Recreation Office or on-line in January.

Mother/Son Event- March

Bowling, Bowling and more Bowling, is the theme of our Mother/Son Event. We rent out Champlain Lanes for our exclusive use for Galactic Bowling. The afternoon includes bowling, pizza and raffle prizes. This event is for all South Burlington boys’ grades 1st-5th and mom or a special female.
