1st Splash Swim- Ages 6 months- 2 yrs
Recreation & Parks is teaming up with The Edge to bring your family First Splash swimming lessons. The lessons will expose you and your child to the water in an enjoyable and safe environment. Each class includes songs, games, and basic water skills. Offered 6 times throughout the Fall, Winter and Spring. Instructors: The Edge Swim Instructors. This is a parent/child program.
Pre-School Swim- Ages 3-5 yrs
Recreation & Parks and The Edge are teaming up to offer the Learn to Swim Program. The goal of the program is to introduce new swimming techniques and increase safety skills around the water. The lessons follow the Red Cross guidelines and each level provides a building block for the next. Offered 6 times throughout the Fall, Winter and Spring. Instructors: The Edge Swim Instructors
Group Skating Lessons- Ages 3-5 yrs
Recreation & Parks and The VT Skating Club are teaming up to offer Basic Skills Skating Lessons at Cairns Arena. The classes are designed by U.S. Figure Skating. It is the best beginning ice skating program that serves the needs of both the recreational and competitive skaters. Offered Fall, Winter and Spring. Tiny Ninja Tots Taekwondo- Ages 3-4 yrs
The TNT Taekwondo Program introduces beginner Taekwondo techniques. Tots will learn how to do pushups, sit-ups, how to block, and practice listening skills. They will learn in a fun and non-threatening atmosphere. Offered in the Fall and Spring. Instructor: Sue Myers, 3rd Degree Black Belt
Lil’Tykes Sports Readiness- Ages 3-4 yrs
Are you looking for the right introduction to youth sports for your child? If so, join us for this interactive program where children and parents will learn together the skills and mechanics that are common in sports. Your child will learn to kick, throw, catch, and swing. Offered in the Spring. Instructor: Rec. Staff. This is a parent/child program.

Our soccer program is designed to introduce the game of soccer through fun games and soccer activities. It will provide participants with the opportunity to interact and play with children within their own age group. Each week a new skill is introduced and fun games. Offered in the Fall. Lil’Tykes Gymnastics- Ages 4-5 yrs
This program is designed to introduce children to moving and tumbling. Floor exercises and basic movement will be explored. We will have fun using basic gymnastics equipment and mats. Offered in the Spring. Instructors: Rec. Staff. This is a parent/child program.
Lil’Tykes Basketball- Ages 4-5- yrs
This program is designed to introduce the game of basketball through fun games and basketball activities. Squirts Sports Camp- Ages 4-5 yrs
The Sport Squirts program introduces children to a variety of sports such as Soccer, T-ball, Basketball, Lacrosse and Hockey, all taking place in a safe structured environment ensuring learning is taking place. Offered in the Summer. Instructors: US Sports Institute Coaches.
Movin’ Mammas- Fitness Classes for Moms & Caregivers w/Children 9 months – 3 years
Bring the kids and join us in a family-friendly and “go with the flow” environment for a convenient, fun, and satisfying workout. Depending on the age level, ability and interest, children may actively participate in the exercises. Flexibility is the key in these fitness classes and emphasis is on sharing the joy of music, movement, and well-being. Offered in the Summer.
Zumba Fitness- Looking for a morning workout? Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves create a dynamic workout and celebrate the lively music and dance of other cultures. Instructor: Lisa Guerrero
Stretch and Tone- Come stretch and tone with your child. A holistic approach to fitness that increases flexibility and strengthens muscles while improving overall balance and preventing injury. Instructor: Lisa Guerrero
Stroller Fitness- These classes are designed for moms and caregivers and their stroller-aged child(ren). They consist of an outdoor circuit-training workout that incorporates the stroller and includes both cardio moves and strength training. Come Stroll with us! Instructor: Lisa Guerrero
Tots & Tykes Time- Ages 1-5 yrs
This program is co-sponsored by the Recreation Department and the South Burlington Family Center. Come join other families in an open gym atmosphere for socialization and free play. A schedule with dates and location is available on our website or at the Recreation Office. Offered October thru April.
